Cristo Rey Partnership
El Preescolar Joyce ha parejado con la escuela segundaria Cristo Rey y actualmente estamos acogiendo 1o pasantes en nuestrxs salones. Nuestrxs salones ya han beneficiado de la presencia de nuestxs pasantes. ¡Nuestrxs pasantes apoyar las salones en muchas maneras! Si es ayudar las estudiantes durante el día por dar bienvenidos a la escuela, leerles libros, ayudarles en la tiempo de merienda y almuerzo, jugar juegos, o dar animo y cuidado, hemos disfrutado ver las estudiantes jovenes conectar con modelos de seguir de adultos jovenes, y ver estos estudiantes de escuela secundaria se convierten modelos de seguir.
Nuestxs pasantes de Cristo Rey también han tenido la oportunidad a aprender sobre paciencia, comunicación, y la importancia de educación temprana, y observar actividades con lxs maestrxs. En adición a fomentar la aprendizaje por hablar en ambos inglés y español, los estudiantes han sido podido a formar conexiones geniales. Los pasantes incluso llaman a los estudiantes sus «amigos pequeños.»
Estamos muy afortunado a tener este asociación con Cristo Rey.
«I started off my day with going to say good morning to my supervisor Ms.Will. I headed to my classroom, the sunflower classroom…[The kids] took out their snacks and I was making sure to help them open their food and serve them water. I helped the teachers calm some kids that were out of control. Patience is key! The class was divided into 2 groups. One group went to the gym and the other group stayed back and read a book that was called fried bread. After that both groups switched. I grabbed the paper plates and gave one to every single student. They got fried bread! Today I made new bonds with a lot of people and I’m gaining confidence to talk to people who I don’t know. A lot of little kids remembered my name and I remembered theirs.»
